About Dr. Oke

Luc Oke, MD, is a board certified cardiologist with subspecialty certifications in internal medicine and nuclear cardiology. He provides a wide range of cardiovascular care to patients at Heart Consultants in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

A native of Benin, West Africa, Dr. Oke is an internationally recognized expert in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, specializing in catheter ablations, atrial fibrillation, syncope, and arrhythmia management. He attended the National University of Benin College of Medical Sciences and completed his cardiology residency at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Trousseau et Affilies in Paris, France, as well as an internal medicine residency at Howard University. Dr. Oke completed his fellowships at the University of Arkansas, Temple University, and Howard University Hospital, focusing on the areas of cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology.

Dr. Oke’s areas of expertise include the management of patients with electrophysiological/arrhythmia problems related to specific heart conditions, complex cardiac ablation (including for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias ranging from supraventricular tachycardia to atrial fibrillation to ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contractions), complex care related to ventricular arrhythmias, and clinical research trials related to the care of the arrhythmia and other cardiac-related diseases.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Oke is dedicated to researching and investigating new and innovative ways to treat and manage cardiac conditions. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the American Center for Investigative Cardiology, where he is dedicated to training and mentoring medical students in the field of cardiac medicine, in addition to researching and investigating new and innovative treatments in the field of cardiology. He has been published in numerous respected, peer-reviewed journals and publications.

Dr. Oke gives lectures nationally and internationally to speak on his specialty interests, including advances in catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia and non-arrhythmic ablation for treating cardiovascular disease. He currently serves as the Chief of Cardiology at the Not-For-Profit Hospital Corporation in Washington, DC, and is a member of the medical staff at Howard University Hospital, John Hopkins Suburban Hospital, and Holy Cross Hospital.
